Mannington -- Complete Care Services, Inc., the nations leader in managing long term care facilities, has awarded the Salem County Nursing Home its "Facility Initiatives 2000" trophy, Freeholder Charles Sullivan announced today.

CCS selected the Salem County Nursing Home from the 35 facilities it manages in its Eastern Division, which consists of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland.

"The recipient of the award was selected based on the quality of care, clinical program development, and community outreach projects," said Judy Bair, Regional Vice President- CCS Eastern Division. Ms. Bair presented a trophy and plaque on June 19th.

Sullivan credited the leadership of Bill Meadows, the on-site CCS executive director, for the positive changes at the Salem County Nursing Home.

"Bill has created an environment at the Salem County Nursing Home that embraces a spirit of community enthusiasm. This environment results in a high quality of direct care, exciting programs, and fresh perspectives on carrying out daily routines," said Sullivan. "Bills enthusiasm and philosophy are contagious, and the staff at the Nursing Home is to be complimented on the positive changes they have helped to put in place."

Sullivan chairs the Health and Social Services Committee, which oversees the Nursing Home. Also serving on that committee are Freeholders Sue Bestwick and Ben Simmermon.

CCS manages 25,000 beds in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the four eastern states, West Virginia and Texas. CCS has provided various consulting and managerial services to the County of Salem since 1996.
