The Korean War Commemorative Committee has announced the winners of the poster contest, which was open to all eighth grade students in Salem County.

The first place entry was submitted by Bo McGowan of Woodstown Middle School. The three second place winners were Katie Burns of Woodstown Middle School, Jacquelyn Keating of Oldmans Middle School and Samantha Hannah of Elsinboro Township School. Third place winner was Yemi Ageni of Woodstown Middle School. The Committee's Choice Award was granted to Katie Robbins of Woodstown Middle School. Members of the Commemorative Committee did the judging and the winners will receive cash awards ranging from $50.00 to $15.00 and certificates of achievement.

All students who participated will receive honorable mention recognition certificates.

The Korean War Commemorative Committee gives special recognition and certificates to the following teachers who encouraged their students to participate: Mrs. Jennifer Donahue and Miss Linda Kakusi of Woodstown Middle School; Mr. Jim Costabile of Elsinboro Township School and Mrs. Ann Hostetter of Oldmans Middle School.

"The Poster Contest was directed to eighth grade students in Salem County in order to instill an awareness and understanding by our students of the historic value and significance of the Korean War, "said Gilda Gill, Chairperson of the Committee.
